If you try to open SharePoint website hosted on local server in IE11, you will get a message from IE11 :
“Sorry, this site hasn’t been shared with you.”
What happens when you try to access SharePoint website (password protected website/Intranet application) is IE11 tries to automatically login to the top level website with default username and password. So, login to the website fails whenever you try to open SharePoint website.
In order to open SharePoint website, change setting of IE11.
In Internet Explorer 11, enable “Prompt for username and password” option.
Tools -> Internet options -> Security -> Click on Local intranet -> Custom level -> Scroll down to the bottom to find “User Authentication” -> Enable Prompt for username and password -> Click OK
Close the browser and now you are good to go.
